If you’d like to fully embrace the rustic desert lifestyle, the community of Whisper Rock can offer you Southwestern architecture and incredible granite boulder formations. Residents of the Whisper Rock community enjoy a 2,500 square foot community facility that has a fitness center, lap pool, spa, outdoor living room, catering kitchen for functions, basketball court, turf area and 2 sunken tennis courts. Whisper Rock also has its own 3-acre desert park.
Whisper Rock Estates has 200 home sites spread across 800, guard-gated acres. Home sites range from 1 to 5 acres (the average lot size is 2 acres). The community offers custom homes and 17 villas.
The Whisper Rock Golf Club has two golf courses to choose from. The first, The Lower Course, was designed by Phil Mickelson and Gary Stephenson in 2001. The second, The Upper Course, was designed by Tom Fazio in 2005. The 36 holes were designed to group together, but are separated by strips of desert. Golfers enjoy the fact that on many holes, there are no homes to be seen – the course truly feels immersed in the desert. The Whisper Rock golf club is golf only – social membership does not exist here. Because of this, the clubhouse provides golf necessities only. No other facilities or restaurants are located here. Membership is by sponsorship or invitation only. Property ownership in Whisper Rock Estates is not required, nor does it create any rights to membership.
School-aged children living in Whisper Rock generally attend these schools in the Cave Creek Unified School District: Lone Mountain Elementary, Sonoran Trails middle School and Cactus Shadows High School.
